This offers major advantages in terms of fast, efficient cooling and eliminates the problems of widely fluctuating air temperatures in summer and winter.
The cooling water is sprayed against the belt underside via a high flow spray system which covers the entire cooling length and width. After the heat has been transferred, the warm water is collected in pans, then in a cooling buffer tank before being returned via a centrifugal pump to the recooling system (e.g. cooling tower).
Another technical and economical benefit is that the product never comes into direct contact with the cooling media (cooling water). This means there is no possibility of product contamination and no need for water treatment – a real advantage compared with technologies where air scrubbing is necessary.
